Metro is seeking applicants for our Entry Level, Part-Time Public Safety Officer as well as a limited number of Full-Time Public Safety Officer positions. Metro Officers provide a presence at a variety of locations and events. Officers may be assigned to stand posts or patrol client properties on foot, on bicycles or other motorized equipment (where necessary or available) and in patrol cars. Officers are expected to protect persons and property at client locations, and to respond to calls for service that may include fights, alarms, battery, vandalism, and many other crimes. Officers may be required to make arrests within company policy, differing California Legal Codes (i.e. Penal, Vehicle, Health & Safety, etc.) and client policy. Officers will conduct field interviews and preliminary investigations of certain crimes. Metro Officers are required to behave in a polite and professional manner while dealing with any issues and to write reports when required. Officers also may be required to testify in legal proceedings when necessary.
Applicants are REQUIRED to be available Friday and Saturday overnights for consideration. Available shifts range from 2 hours in length to a full alternative workweek schedule of a 10 hour shift. Officers will be assigned to vehicle patrol business districts, hotels, motels, and other housing protection positions.

Applicants must currently possess a California Guard Card and they must also either currently possess, or have the ability to gain within sixty days of the beginning of their employment; a Baton Permit and a Chemical Agent Card. Primary consideration will be given to persons in possession of a TASER International Instructor or End User certification for X26 or X2 TASERs. Uniforms and radio are provided. Officers are required to provide their own weapons and duty gear. TASERs may be provided once officers have achieved the required certifications. Training and experience in law enforcement and military is a plus.
